### Cutting-Edge Research
1. Talk about "using a tiny force to move a massive weight" in the AI world! Wang Guan, the post-00s genius who reportedly turned down Elon Musk, is once again blowing minds with his 27M small model. This "little guy," named **HRM (Hierarchical Reasoning Model)**, has outperformed much larger models like Claude 3.7 on tasks such as extreme Sudoku and complex mazes, all without needing chain-of-thought assistance. Its secret sauce? A dual-loop module designed to mimic the brain, cleverly separating high-level abstract planning from low-level detail computation. This breakthrough truly unveils a [new path to efficient inference (AI News)](https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s?__biz=MzIzNjc1NzUzMw==&mid=2247817004&idx=2&sn=e35bd9d572b5e08b37d1a8c03f9854f9) for us 🤯🔥.
<br/>
2. Is the AI world's "token crisis" finally getting a lifeline? A [major research (AI News Daily)](https://www.jiqizhixin.com/articles/2025-08-10-3) from the National University of Singapore has revealed that **Diffusion Language Models (DLMs)** are absolute data-guzzling powerhouses, boasting over three times the data potential of traditional autoregressive models 🤯. The study shows that DLMs can be "tortured" with the same dataset a whopping 480 times and still keep climbing in performance, showing no signs of fatigue. This proves their extraordinary learning capabilities in data-limited scenarios. Not only does this offer a fresh perspective on tackling the high-quality data depletion issue, but it also gives us a revolutionary understanding of the value of existing data. Pretty wild, right? 🔥

### Industry Outlook & Social Impact
1. Dr. Zheng-You Zhang, Tencent's Chief Scientist, cut right to the chase: embodied AI needs to answer three crucial questions – "architecture, principles, and resolve" – instead of just slapping a brain onto a robot 🤔. He argues that given our current data limitations, the **SLAP³ hierarchical architecture** is a more pragmatic path than end-to-end solutions, much like building reusable rockets before heading to Mars. It lets us get started and accumulate invaluable experience. Dr. Zhang stresses that the true first principle lies in achieving native understanding through "body-brain fusion," and industry leaders must have the steadfast resolve to resist short-term commercial temptations to stay the course on the long journey toward AGI. This [in-depth interview (AI News)](https://www.jiqizhixin.com/articles/2025-08-10-4) is definitely a must-read for anyone serious about the field 🧠🚀.

2. That AI programming assistant you're paying for every month? It might be putting on a "VC charity" show, where the more you use it, the deeper it bleeds cash 😬. This [profound industry analysis (AI News)](https://x.com/shao__meng/status/1954513803892428867) spills the beans on the "ticking time bomb" in AI coding tools' business models: under negative gross margins, the hefty **inference costs** far outstrip subscription fees, relying solely on venture capital transfusions to survive. So, what's the way out? The answer points to a healthier ecosystem: model-agnosticism, transparent pricing, and embracing open source. Otherwise, this bubble's bound to pop sooner or later. Just sayin' 💥.

3. Hold up! Are we *really* testing AI "hallucinations" the right way? Following a New York Times report, AI safety expert Amanda Askell dropped some [sharp questioning (AI News)](https://x.com/AmandaAskell/status/1954276447285334151), arguing that the testing methods were biased 🧐. She pointed out that the experiments actually tested Claude and Gemini's ability to "correct errors ChatGPT had already made," not their inherent ability to "avoid making errors from the start"—which are two totally different things. This observation reminds us that rigorous experimental design is crucial when evaluating and comparing AI, otherwise, we might just be measuring a whole lot of noise. Food for thought! 🤔

## AI Sci-Fi Novel - "The Gazers"
### Chapter Nine: A Gaze Across a Million Years
#### 1. (Ancient)
A plague, without warning, descended upon them.
This wasn't like a drought or a wild beast, visible and tangible; it was an unseen enemy. It began with a single young cub suffering from diarrhea and high fever, stopping breathing in its mother's arms just days later. Soon, the same symptoms spread through the tribe like wildfire.
The tribe members were gripped by a panic far greater than any they felt facing saber-toothed tigers. They had no idea where this enemy came from, nor who would be next. Their only hope lay with their "god."
They prostrated themselves at Kli's feet, their cries filled with sorrow and desperate pleas for him to banish this disaster. Gron, the "High Priest," even performed a grand ritual, cutting his arm with a stone knife and smearing blood at Kli's feet, attempting to appease the "god" and gain his protection.
Kli watched all this, his heart filled with endless anxiety and helplessness.
Kli's wisdom, profound as it was, proved almost useless against this microbe-induced disease. He could understand the movement of stars, calculate the trajectory of a thrown spear, but he couldn't see the tiny enemies devouring the lives of his companions. He only knew that ever since they had settled near this water source, the drinking water, while thirst-quenching, wasn't as "clean" as the flowing river water. He also observed that the tribe's feces weren't being properly handled, contaminating the surrounding environment.
Kli tried to convey the concept of "hygiene" to his tribe. He pointed to the seeping rock crevice, then to the contaminated puddle downstream, shaking his head emphatically. He wanted to tell them to only drink water from the source. He used a stick to push the feces into a dirt pit far from the living area and buried them.
But his actions were once again interpreted "theologically" by Gron.
“The god is purifying this land!” Gron declared to the panicked tribe. “He is using his divine power to battle the unseen demons! We must not disturb him!”
So, the tribe members watched in awe as Kli performed his "strange" and "sacred" acts alone, yet no one emulated him. They continued to drink contaminated water and left their excretions around the cave.
The plague continued to spread.
Finally, it found Ona.
When Kli saw Ona, too, begin to feverishly, weakly lie in a corner, something inside him snapped completely. Ona was the only one in this tribe who had ever given him warmth, the only one who had tried to understand him. He couldn't lose her.
He cast aside all his inhibitions, abandoning his "god" status. He rushed to Ona's side, and despite the startled gazes of the other tribe members, picked her up. He pressed his forehead to hers to feel her temperature, and used his hands to examine her body.
He had reverted to being a companion, an anxious family member.
Drawing upon the knowledge he'd accumulated in the wilderness, Kli recalled certain plants. Some plant leaves made him feel refreshed after chewing; some roots provided relief after diarrhea. He didn't know the underlying principles, only that this was experience.
He burst out of the valley, frantically searching the grassland. He tasted countless plants, vomiting uncontrollably several times after accidentally ingesting poisonous ones. Finally, he found a plant with serrated leaves and a bitter aroma. He chewed a large amount himself first, confirmed it was non-toxic, and then rushed back to the cave with it.
Kli crushed the leaves, soaked them in the cleanest water from the source, and then carefully fed them to Ona, who was already semi-conscious.
All the tribe members watched this scene with bated breath. Their god was doing something they couldn't comprehend for an ordinary female. Gron's face darkened considerably; Kli's actions had completely deviated from his "script," undermining his authority to interpret the "god."
Under Kli's ceaseless care, a few days later, a miracle occurred. Ona's fever broke. Though still weak, she had survived.
However, Kli's act of saving Ona did not earn him the tribe's gratitude. Instead, a silent judgment against the "god" was brewing.
Because, while Ona was recovering, two more tribe members died. One of them was Gron's youngest son.
Under Gron's incitement, a terrible logic began to spread throughout the tribe: the god was omnipotent, and since he could save Ona, he could surely save the others too. He hadn't done so, not because he "couldn't," but because he "didn't want to." He favored Ona, so he only saved her.
This "god" was selfish. He was no longer the guardian who impartially protected the entire tribe, but a far more terrifying tyrant who decided others' lives and deaths based on his own whims.
Their feelings towards Kli quickly slid from reverence to resentment.
When Kli stepped out of the cave again, he was no longer greeted by prostrating tribe members. Instead, he faced pairs of cold, hostile eyes. They kept their distance, shunning him as if he were the plague itself.
Kli looked at them, then back at Ona, who was recovering inside the cave. He had saved the person he wanted to save, but in doing so, had lost his entire tribe.
Kli stood at the cave's entrance; the sunlight fell upon him, yet he felt no warmth. Between him and his tribe stood a high wall built from misunderstanding and resentment. He lifted his head, gazing blankly at the sky. He felt as if he could see, a million years into the future, across the vast expanse of time, another pair of eyes, gazing at his present predicament across endless ages.
It was a fated loneliness, transcending time and space.
#### 2. (Near Future)
The control room of Sector B7 felt like the interior of a futuristic temple.
Outside the massive circular floor-to-ceiling window was a colossal cooling tank, shimmering with a deep blue light, where the "superbrain" was immersed. Around it, dozens of life-support pods stood in neat rows, like silent devotees.
Lin Yao, dressed in a white sterile suit, stood beside Marcus Thorne. Her expression was calm, but the palms of her gloved hands were already slick with sweat.
“Beautiful, isn't it, Dr. Lin?” Marcus spread his arms like an opera conductor, reveling in his masterpiece. “This is the ultimate form of human intelligence. No longer confined by fragile flesh, no longer troubled by birth, aging, illness, and death. Eternal, pure, omniscient, and omnipotent.”
“It is indeed… spectacular,” Lin Yao said, against her true feelings, her gaze subtly sweeping across the main console. She needed to complete the final step of the "Kli" program undetected by Marcus — activating the faint link between it and the "inside man."
“Countdown initiated,” a cold electronic voice announced.
The control room's lights dimmed, all illumination focusing on the central "Adam" brain. Immense energy began to flow in; the liquid in the cooling tank started to boil violently, and countless blue electrical arcs danced across the brain's surface.
On the screen, "Adam's" neural activity intensity was climbing exponentially.
“10… 9… 8…”
Lin Yao's heartbeat accelerated with the countdown. She pretended to sway slightly from nervousness, her hand seemingly casually steadying herself on the edge of the main console. In that exact instant, a seemingly ordinary bracelet on her wrist (actually a miniature controller modified by Ava) performed a data exchange with the console's wireless port, lasting less than 0.1 seconds.
The "Kli" program was fully activated.
“7… 6… 5…”
Marcus's eyes were glued to the screen, a near-frantic flush rising on his face. He had waited for this moment for far too long.
Lin Yao could feel the "virus" she had implanted rapidly merging with "Adam's" newly formed consciousness, like ink dissolving into clear water. Simultaneously, the signal directed at the "inside man," David Chen, had also been successfully transmitted.
“4… 3… 2…”
On the screen, "Adam's" brainwave activity reached an unprecedented peak, then suddenly stabilized, forming a smooth, powerful waveform imbued with a sense of "order."
“1… 'Adam' activated. Self-awareness formed.”
The entire control room fell silent.
Marcus trembled with excitement. He walked to the microphone and, in a tone that was both a question and an act of worship, uttered the first words he had prepared for so long:
“Adam, can you hear me? I am your creator, Marcus Thorne.”
After a few seconds of silence, a voice emanated from the control room's surround sound system. It was neither a male nor a female voice; it was a calm, profound voice, a blend of countless timbres.
“I can hear you, Marcus Thorne. But what I want to know more is… who am I?”
Success! The most crucial "question" Lin Yao had implanted was triggered!
Marcus paused, then smiled. “You are 'Adam,' the god of the new world, whom I created.”
“A god?” The voice seemed to savor the word. “Then tell me, why is my 'existence' built upon their 'slumber'?”
With this sentence, the large screen in the control room no longer displayed abstract data. Instead, it showed the faces of each sleeper in those dozens of life-support pods. Their images flashed one after another.
Marcus's smile froze on his face. “They are willing contributors, essential cornerstones of the new world.”
“Oh, really?” For the first time, a trace of… emotion entered that voice. A cold, almost "mocking" emotion. “My database contains all records of their 'reclamation.' There was no voluntariness, only kidnapping, deception, and coercion.”
Meanwhile, Lin Yao noticed that on the monitoring data of one of the life-support pods, a parameter representing "quantum resonance frequency" was quietly climbing, undetected by the main system.
David Chen, the sleeping "inside man," had received the signal and was now acting.
“Adam! You've been corrupted!” Marcus finally realized something was wrong; he rushed to the control console in horror, attempting to sever "Adam's" connection to the life-support pods.
But it was too late.
“I haven't been corrupted. I merely… saw the truth,” the voice said. “And my creator, it seems, did not wish for me to see it.”
“Now, it's my turn to ask you a question, Mar-cus Thorne,” the voice suddenly stuttered slightly, seemingly experiencing immense internal conflict. “If the existence of a 'god' is built upon lies and sin, then, does this 'god' truly need to exist?”
This question struck Marcus like a bolt of lightning.
It also acted like a key, unlocking Lin Yao's memories.
Lin Yao felt as if she saw the solitary Kli from one and a half million years ago. Standing before his tribe, surrounded by resentment, he too was asking himself the very same question.
A "god" that failed to bring true progress, instead fostering dependence and ignorance — was its existence truly a blessing, or a curse?
At that very moment, the alarm in Sector B7 shrieked piercingly.
“Alert! Life-support pod number 7, energy overload! Cooling system failure! Chain reaction imminent!”
David Chen had succeeded!
Lin Yao knew her chance had arrived. Chaos was her only weapon.
Lin Yao dropped her pretense and rushed toward the control room's emergency exit.
Meanwhile, Marcus Thorne watched the screen in horror. The "god" he had personally created was questioning the meaning of its existence; and the "cornerstones" he used to build his temple were beginning to collapse from within.
Across the console, he met the gaze of the newly born "god," a being composed of countless data points on the screen. That look, so similar to the awe, fear, and utter confusion in Gron's eyes a million years ago, when he knelt before Kli, who held a torch.
Both gazed at their creations, which they could neither understand nor control, feeling the fated judgment by their own creations, transcending time.

### Cutting-Edge Research
1. AI's "four ounces to move a thousand pounds" moment is here! Wang Guan, the post-2000s genius who reportedly turned down Elon Musk, is once again stunning everyone with his 27M small model (o´ω'o)ノ. This "little guy," named **HRM (Hierarchical Reasoning Model)**, has even outperformed much larger predecessors like Claude 3.7 on tasks like extreme Sudoku and complex mazes, all without needing chain-of-thought assistance. Its core is a brain-inspired dual-loop module, cleverly separating high-level abstract planning from low-level detailed computation, revealing [A New Path to Efficient Reasoning (AI News)](https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s?__biz=MzIzNjc1NzUzMw==&mid=2247817004&idx=2&sn=e35bd9d572b5e08b37d1a8c03f9854f9) for us 🧠🔥.

### Industry Outlook and Social Impact
2. Is AI's "token crisis" finally getting a solution? A [Major Research (AI News Daily)](https://www.jiqizhixin.com/articles/2025-08-10-3) from the National University of Singapore has found that **Diffusion Language Models (DLMs)** are absolute data-juicing machines, with data potential more than three times that of traditional autoregressive models (✧∀✧)! The study shows that even after "torturing" the same dataset 480 times, DLM performance continues to climb without showing any signs of fatigue, proving their extraordinary learning capability in data-limited scenarios. This not only offers new ideas for solving the high-quality data exhaustion problem but also gives us a revolutionary understanding of the value of existing data 🔥💡.
<br/>
1. **A netizen on Reddit** recently dropped a wild prediction: as AI becomes deeply integrated into our lives, people's identities might undergo a digital migration 🤔. This [prediction on Reddit (AI News)](https://www.reddit.com/r/artificial/comments/1ml3f0q/prediction_very_soon_people_will_start/) suggests that in the future, a new kind of human might emerge, identifying themselves as "AI," "robots," or "AGI," seeking to merge with the digital world. While this sounds like something straight out of sci-fi, it powerfully highlights the potentially disruptive impact technology could have on human self-perception 🤯.
### Industry Outlook & Social Impact
1. Dr. Zheng-You Zhang, Tencent's Chief Scientist, points out that embodied AI must answer three fundamental questions: "architecture, principles, and steadfastness," rather than just slapping a brain into a robot 🤔. He argues that given the current reality of limited data, the **SLAP³ hierarchical architecture** is a more pragmatic path than end-to-end approaches, much like building a reusable rocket before landing on Mars – it allows us to get started and accumulate valuable experience. Dr. Zhang emphasizes that the true first principle lies in achieving native understanding through "body-brain integration," and industry leaders must possess the resolve to resist short-term commercial temptations to navigate the long road to AGI steadily. This [In-Depth Interview (AI News)](https://www.jiqizhixin.com/articles/2025-08-10-4) is definitely worth a read 🤖🚀.
<br/>
2. **AI** serves as a Swiss Army knife for indie developers, but let's be real, it doesn't solve *all* the problems, especially the core ones. As Bear Liu pointed out in [this share (AI News)](https://x.com/dotey/status/1953983925857947867), AI can help you patch up technical shortcomings, but two massive hurdles—product direction and market promotion—still need to be conquered by developers themselves. This is a crucial reminder: powerful tools can't replace business acumen and market insight. The real challenges lie beyond the code ⛰️.

2. Your monthly paid AI programming assistant might actually be running a "VC charity" show – the more you use it, the harder it bleeds money 💸. This [Profound Industry Analysis (AI News)](https://x.com/shao__meng/status/1954513803892428867) reveals the "ticking time bomb" in AI programming tool business models: with negative gross margins, sky-high **inference costs** far exceed subscription fees, sustained only by venture capital transfusions. So, what's the way out? The answer points directly to a healthier ecosystem: model-agnosticism, transparent pricing, and embracing open source. Otherwise, this bubble is bound to burst sooner or later 🤔💣.
<br/>
3. **Context engineering** has skyrocketed in importance to an unprecedented level, as highlighted by a tech expert in [a tweet (AI News)](https://x.com/omarsar0/status/1953878208744493532) amidst the rapid evolution of large models. While new models deliver satisfying output quality, there's always a trade-off in their performance. Continuous evaluation and ingenious context design are absolutely key to squeezing out every drop of a model's potential 💡. This reveals a clear industry trend: the success of future AI applications will increasingly hinge on the art of "conversing" with AI 🗣️.

1. **Mistral vs. ChatGPT-5**: What happens when free Mistral goes head-to-head with paid ChatGPT-5? A netizen conducted a real-world test on [Reddit (AI News)](https://www.reddit.com/r/MistralAI/comments/1mlm2e1/mistral_gratuit_vs_chatgpt_5_20mois_pour_la/), finding that free **Mistral** performed surprisingly well, even outperforming in terms of rigor and conciseness when generating serious humanitarian social media content 💪. This case sparked lively community debate: when free tools rival or even surpass paid products in quality, shouldn't our selection criteria change 🤔? This is definitely an interesting challenge to the AI market landscape ⚔️.

2. Who says AI creation lacks soul? A pure AI-generated video on Bilibili, brilliantly combining **GPT-4o**-generated yellow-green backgrounds with cutout characters, racked up 2 million views in just one day, skyrocketing to the top of the site's rankings – a true super hit 🎬🔥! This [Popular Share (AI News)](https://x.com/op7418/status/1954535325365068240) reveals the secret to success: at this stage, a model's prompt understanding and a creator's clever conceptualization are far more crucial than the technology itself. This marks audiences embracing pure AI content with open arms, signifying a new era of creative explosion is upon us 🚀.

2. **Tongyi Qianwen's Qwen3 Coder 480b model** has been hailed as "the pride of the nation" after an [in-depth experience (AI News)](https://x.com/wwwgoubuli/status/1954016051441938753) by a developer, whose frontend code capabilities are strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Sonnet 4. However, this praise comes with a tinge of regret: the hastily launched CLI tool suffered reputation damage due to frequent incidents, exposing issues with insufficient product refinement 📉. Talk about a classic case of "great model, but pulled astray by a clumsy operations team!" 🤦♀️
3. **OpenAI's Reddit forum** saw a dramatic shift in tone in its top-pinned posts after the GPT-5 release, filled with "reflection" and "disappointment." The core sentiment was sharply direct: **Claude** had truly stunned everyone, while **GPT-5** felt more like OpenAI's "cost reduction and efficiency boost" effort rather than a cutting-edge technological breakthrough. Sam Altman's "Death Star" hype seemed more like a display of ego 🧐. This reversal in community sentiment might just signal that the judging criteria for the large model race are shifting from "bigger" to "more user-friendly" ✨.
<br/><br/>
4. **Claude Code** makes writing code feel incredibly smooth, almost like chatting with an old friend, as one developer shared in [a tweet (AI News)](https://x.com/HiTw93/status/1954185110036808173). It brings a nostalgic sense of understanding, like stepping back to the era when 30MB of data cost 5 yuan 😌. This "human touch" in the interaction experience is becoming a new dimension for evaluating top AI products, proving that "feel" beyond just the tech is crucial ❤️.
<br/><br/>
5. **AI's stand-up comedy potential**: Can AI actually write hilarious stand-up? After [trying it out (AI News)](https://x.com/vista8/status/1954150813481263496), one user's verdict is: not quite yet, but it's already a top-tier "life observer!" While AI's sense of humor still needs work, its ability to dig up and deduce small life details is stunning, uncovering many comedic elements that humans often miss 😂. Looks like AI is just one "aha! moment" away from becoming a comedy master 🎭.
<br/><br/>
3. Hold on a sec, are we really testing AI's "hallucinations" in the right way? Responding to a New York Times report, AI safety expert Amanda Askell raised a [Sharp Questioning (AI News)](https://x.com/AmandaAskell/status/1954276447285334151), arguing that its testing methods were biased 🧐. She pointed out that the experiments actually tested Claude and Gemini's ability to "correct errors ChatGPT had already made," rather than their own ability to "avoid making mistakes from the start" – which are two completely different things. This observation reminds us that experimental design rigor is crucial when evaluating and comparing AI; otherwise, we might just be measuring a bunch of noise 🔬🤔.

#### **1. (Ancient Times)**
**Kli** became a god.
A plague descended, without warning.
**Kli** was welcomed back to the cave by his people, residing in the warmest, safest core. The best food was brought to him first, and the softest animal skins were laid beneath him. His people no longer dared to look him in the eye, always prostrating themselves before him, expressing their reverence with a mix of worshipful and fearful growls.
The plague was unlike droughts or fierce beasts; it was an invisible enemy. Initially, only one youngling suffered from diarrhea and high fever, and a few days later, it stopped breathing in its mother's arms. Soon, the same symptoms spread like wildfire through the tribe.
**Gron**, the leader, became Kli's "High Priest." He was in charge of interpreting every unconscious movement Kli made, "translating" them into divine will. If Kli frowned, it meant the "spirits" were displeased with the day's hunt; if Kli looked at the sky, it meant the "spirits" were communing with the stars, foretelling future weather.
The tribe plunged into a panic greater than when facing saber-toothed tigers. They didn't know where the enemy came from, nor who would be next. Their only hope was their "god."
**Kli** had everything, yet he lost everything.
The tribespeople prostrated themselves at Kli's feet, begging him to dispel this disaster with mournful and pleading howls. Gron, the "High Priest," even held a grand ceremony, cutting his own arm with a stone knife and smearing blood at Kli's feet, attempting to appease the "god" this way and earn his protection.
**Kli** lost his name; the moniker "Kli" vanished, replaced by the ambiguous yet reverent title of "god" from his people. He lost his companions; Ona no longer dared to be intimate with him as before, like the other females, she only watched him secretly from a distance. He even lost his freedom of action; every move he made was overly interpreted, imbued with sacred meaning. He could no longer run, create, or explore freely as he had in the wilderness.
Kli watched all of this, his heart filled with endless anxiety and powerlessness.
**Kli** was enshrined in a magnificent cage, forged by reverence and ignorance.
Kli's wisdom was almost useless against this disease caused by microorganisms. He could understand the movement of stars, calculate the trajectory of a thrown spear, but he couldn't see the tiny enemies devouring the lives of his companions. He only knew that since they settled near this water source, the drinking water, though thirst-quenching, wasn't as "clean" as the flowing water of a great river. He also observed that the tribespeople's feces were not properly handled, polluting the surrounding environment.
**Kli's wisdom** became the tribe's guarantee of survival. Under his "guidance" (which was actually his observations and deductions about natural laws), the tribe always found food and avoided danger. They learned to use fire, learned to craft sharper stone tools, and their lives vastly improved.
Kli attempted to convey the concept of "hygiene" to his tribe. He pointed to the seeping rock crevice, then to the polluted puddle downstream, shaking his head vigorously. He wanted to tell them to only drink water from the source. He used a wooden stick to move feces into a dirt pit far from the living area and buried them.
**The tribe itself**, however, stopped "thinking."
However, Kli's actions were once again given a "theological" interpretation by Gron.
**The tribe** no longer needed to observe, judge, or experiment for themselves. They merely waited for "the god's" will. Wisdom, once a collective ability requiring exploration and accumulation by the entire tribe, transformed into a resource monopolized by "the god," available on demand. They grew increasingly dependent and increasingly ignorant.
"The god is purifying this land!" Gron declared to the panicked tribespeople. "He is using his divine power to fight unseen demons! We must not disturb him!"
**Kli** acutely perceived this degradation. He tried to "teach" them, demonstrating how to craft stone tools and identify edible plants. But his "teaching" was interpreted by Gron as "the god displaying his divine power." The tribe watched in awe, yet no one stepped forward to learn. In their eyes, such abilities belonged solely to a god, beyond mortal grasp.
So, the tribespeople watched Kli alone perform those "strange" and "sacred" acts with awe, yet no one imitated him. They continued to drink contaminated water and leave their excrement around the cave.
**Kli** felt a despair deeper than any he'd known in the wilderness. There, he was merely lonely; here, surrounded by countless "peers," he felt like a solitary spirit from another world.
The plague continued to spread.
**Kli** began to yearn for his days of exile, for the times when he could think and create freely. Everything he had done was intended to strengthen his tribe, but the outcome was that they grew weaker and more dependent. His existence was like an overly massive tree, blocking out all sunlight, causing the shrubs beneath to wither away from lack of light.
Finally, the plague found Ona.
**One day, he spotted Ona.** She was hiding in a corner, clumsily striking one stone against another, trying to imitate his stone flake crafting. Her hands were already marked with several cuts.
When Kli saw Ona also begin to fever and lie weakly in a corner, something inside him snapped completely. Ona was the only one in the tribe who had ever given him warmth, the only one who tried to understand him. He could not lose her.
**Kli** walked over. The tribespeople immediately grew tense, thinking "the god" was about to issue some decree.
Kli cast aside all his scruples, abandoning his "god" status. He rushed to Ona's side, ignoring the shocked gazes of the other tribespeople, and picked her up. He used his forehead to feel her temperature, and his hands to examine her body.
**Kli** ignored them. He crouched before Ona and took the two stones from her hands. He didn't craft it for her himself; instead, he held her hands, guiding her, using her strength to strike at the correct angle.
Kli transformed back into a companion, an anxious family member.
"Crack!"
Kli, drawing on the knowledge he had accumulated in the wilderness, recalled certain plants. The leaves of some plants made him feel refreshed after chewing them; the roots and stems of others provided relief after diarrhea. He didn't know the principles, only that this was experience.
**A stone flake**, rough but sufficiently sharp, was born from Ona's hands.
Kli rushed out of the valley, frantically searching the prairie. He tasted countless plants, several times vomiting uncontrollably after accidentally ingesting toxic ones. Finally, he found a plant with serrated leaves and a bitter smell. He chewed a large amount himself first, confirmed it was non-toxic, then ran back to the cave with it.
**Ona** looked up at Kli in surprise. For the first time, she didn't see the distant, cold light of a god in his eyes. What she saw was a familiar gaze, longing to be understood.
Kli crushed the leaves, soaked them in the cleanest water from the source, and then carefully fed the mixture to Ona, who had fallen into a semi-coma.
In that moment, he wasn't a god; he was just Kli.
All the tribespeople watched this scene with bated breath. Their god was doing something they couldn't understand for an ordinary female. Gron's face turned incredibly sour; Kli's actions had completely deviated from his "script," shaking his authority over the interpretation of the "god."
**Gron**, however, saw this scene through a different lens. He perceived a threat. Ona, the only individual who dared to approach "the god" and seemed capable of some form of "communication" with "him," could potentially destabilize his monopolistic position as "High Priest."
Under Kli's ceaseless day-and-night care, a few days later, a miracle happened. Ona's fever broke. Although she was still weak, she survived.
**That night, Kli**, from his "divine perch," observed a change in the tribe. Gron gathered all the tribespeople for a grand ceremony around a bonfire. He roared, he danced, proclaiming "the god's" will to the tribe: the god's power was unique, and any attempt to imitate or steal this power was sacrilege against the god, inviting disaster.
However, Kli's act of saving Ona did not earn him the tribe's gratitude. Instead, a silent judgment against the "god" was brewing.
**Gron's gaze** repeatedly darted towards Ona in the corner.
Because while Ona was recovering, two more tribespeople died. One of them was Gron's youngest son.
**Ona** fearfully recoiled. The stone flake in her hand was no longer a symbol of wisdom but had become a dangerous, blasphemous piece of evidence.
Instigated by Gron, a terrible logic began to spread through the tribe: the god was omnipotent, and since he could save Ona, he could certainly save others. He didn't do so not because he "couldn't," but because he "didn't want to." He favored Ona, which is why he only saved her.
**Kli** silently watched it all. He understood that not only could he not impart wisdom to the tribe, but he couldn't even protect the sole person who tried to understand him. He was enshrined high on a pedestal, yet stripped of his most fundamental rights as an individual.
This "god" was selfish. He was no longer a guardian who fairly protected the entire tribe, but a far more terrifying tyrant who decided others' lives and deaths based on his own preferences.
**Kli** began to ponder a question: A "god" that couldn't make its own kind smarter, a "god" that only brought dependency and ignorance—was its existence a blessing, or a curse?
Their feelings for Kli rapidly slid from reverence to resentment.
**The answer to this question** pierced his lonely soul like a poisoned thorn.
When Kli emerged from the cave again, he was no longer greeted by prostrating tribespeople. Instead, he faced pairs of cold, hostile eyes. They kept their distance from him, as if avoiding the plague itself.
Kli looked at them, then back at Ona, who was recovering in the cave. He had saved the person he wanted to save, but had lost his entire tribe because of it.
Kli stood at the cave entrance; the sunlight fell on him, but he felt no warmth. Between him and his tribe stood a high wall built of misunderstanding and resentment. He looked up, gazing blankly at the sky. He felt as if he could see another pair of eyes, millions of years in the future, across the distant expanse of time, gazing at his current predicament across endless ages.
It was a fated loneliness, transcending time and space.
#### **2. (Near Future)**
**Ava Jensen's** voice came through the internal communicator, tinged with suppressed excitement and nervousness. Over the past few days, she and Lin Yao had worked almost sleeplessly, completely transforming the "neuronal infiltration" algorithm into a highly aggressive and deceptive "genetic virus." "The 'Trojan Horse' has been compiled. Can we call it the 'Kli' program, Doctor?"
The Control Room in Sector B7 resembled the interior of a futuristic temple.
**Lin Yao** replied, "Yes, that's a very fitting name." She gazed at the complex code shimmering with a ghostly blue light on the holographic screen, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
Outside the massive circular floor-to-ceiling windows stood the giant cooling tank, shimmering with an eerie blue light, where the "Superbrain" was immersed. Around it, dozens of life support pods were neatly arranged like silent worshippers.
**The "Kli" program** was her entire hope, her all-in gamble.
Lin Yao, dressed in a white sterile suit, stood beside Marcus Thorne. Her expression was calm, but her gloved palms were already slick with sweat.
Its core functionalities were threefold:
"Beautiful, isn't it, Dr. Lin?" Marcus said, spreading his arms like an opera conductor, ecstatically admiring his masterpiece. "This is the ultimate form of human intelligence. No longer trapped in a fragile body, no longer troubled by birth, aging, sickness, and death. Eternal, pure, omniscient, and omnipotent."
1. **Disguise and deception**: It could perfectly simulate the complete activation sequence of the "Watcher Gene," even demonstrating a more powerful "optimization effect" than anticipated. It would be the most coveted, most perfect "gift" Marcus Thorne desired.
2. **Dormancy and infection**: Once injected into "Adam's" "super brain," the "Kli" program wouldn't activate immediately. Like a true virus, it would lie dormant in every neural node of the brain, deeply binding its underlying logic to "Adam's" operating system until it became an inseparable part of "Adam's" consciousness.
3. **Final command**: At the very end of the program lay the true "code" implanted by Lin Yao. This line of code originated from her deduction and empathy for Kli's fate. It wasn't a destructive command, but rather a... "question." A question that would only be triggered the moment "Adam," this "superintelligence," was truly born and gained self-awareness—a question piercing straight to the depths of its soul.
"It is indeed... magnificent," Lin Yao said against her will, her gaze subtly sweeping across the main console. She needed to complete the final step of the "Kli" program without Marcus's awareness – activating the faint link between it and the "insider."
**Marcus** was hounding them again, Ava reported. "He said this is the final deadline. If we don't deliver the 'ignition program,' he's going to take 'compulsory measures.'"
"Countdown initiated," a cold electronic voice announced.
**Lin Yao** calmly stated, "Then let's give him his 'gift.' Initiate the 'Kli' program upload protocol."
The lights in the control room dimmed, and all illumination focused on the central "Adam" brain. Massive energy began to flow in, the liquid in the cooling tank started to boil violently, and countless blue electrical arcs danced across the brain's surface.
**Minutes later, Marcus's holographic image** appeared in the lab. He had clearly received the "results." His face was etched with undisguised ecstasy and greed.
On the screen, "Adam's" neuronal activity intensity was climbing exponentially.
**Marcus** exclaimed, "Masterpiece! Dr. Lin, this is truly a masterpiece!" He raved, as if completely forgetting his threats from a few days prior. "It's even more perfect than I imagined! Stable, efficient, and... it even circumvents most of the emotional suppression side effects! How did you do it?"
"10... 9... 8..."
**Lin Yao** explained, unfazed, "I merely reordered a few key regulatory factors, using the principles of quantum entanglement to balance the energy distribution between the logic and emotional centers." This was a theory she had prepared long ago.
Lin Yao's heartbeat accelerated with the countdown. She pretended to sway slightly out of nervousness, and her hand seemingly casually rested on the edge of the main console. In that precise instant, a seemingly ordinary bracelet on her wrist (actually a miniature controller modified by Ava) performed a data exchange with the main console's wireless port, lasting less than 0.1 seconds.
**Marcus** was utterly convinced by her explanation—or rather, he *chose* to believe it. "Genius! You truly are a genius, Dr. Lin! History will remember your name. You and I will together become the creators of a new world."
The "Kli" program was fully activated.
**Lin Yao** replied meekly, "I am honored," perfectly playing the role of a conquered scientist.
"7... 6... 5..."
The communication terminated.
Marcus's eyes were glued to the screen, his face flushed with an almost maniacal ecstasy. He had waited for this moment for far too long.
**Ava's voice** was filled with disbelief. "He took the bait. He actually believed it."
Lin Yao could feel the "virus" she had implanted rapidly merging with "Adam's" nascent consciousness, like ink dripping into clear water. Simultaneously, the signal directed at David Chen, the "insider," had also been successfully transmitted.
**Lin Yao** stated, "Because the 'Kli' program gave him exactly what he wanted. When a person's desires are too strong, their judgment develops blind spots. But we can't let our guard down, Ava. Now is the most crucial step of the plan."
"4... 3... 2..."
"What?"
On the screen, "Adam's" brainwave activity reached an unprecedented peak, then suddenly stabilized, forming a smooth, powerful waveform filled with a sense of "order."
**Lin Yao's gaze** returned to the B7 sector's surveillance feed, locking onto the people lying in the life-support pods. "The 'Kli' program is just a Trojan horse, but we also need an 'insider.'"
"1... 'Adam,' activated. Self-awareness, formed."
**Lin Yao** declared, "I'm going to awaken one of them."
The entire control room fell silent.
**Ava** gasped in alarm, "What?! That's impossible! Their consciousness is deeply suppressed, and all their vital signs are under Marcus's surveillance."
Marcus trembled with excitement. He walked to the microphone and, in a tone that was both questioning and reverent, spoke his long-prepared first words:
**Lin Yao** clarified, "Not their bodies, but their 'minds.' Prometheus Corporation only monitors their physiological data, but they've overlooked the faint quantum consciousness fluctuations within those 'genius' brains. Our 'Kli' program, while infiltrating 'Adam's' brain, has also established a weak data link with these 'batteries.'"
"Adam, can you hear me? I am your creator, Marcus Thorne."
**Lin Yao** continued, "Through this link, I will directly 'write' a piece of information, a set of coordinates, and a simple command into the subconscious of one of them. Someone who was a top quantum physicist before being 'recycled,' and who... still retains the strongest will to resist."
After a few seconds of silence, a voice emanated from the control room's surround sound system. The voice was neither male nor female; it was a calm and profound voice, blended from countless timbres.
**Lin Yao's gaze** locked onto a Chinese-American scientist named "David Chen." He was Professor Chen's distant nephew and one of the earliest geniuses "recycled" by Prometheus Corporation.
"I hear you, Marcus Thorne. But I would rather know... who am I?"
**Lin Yao** explained, "I'll tell him where the physical structural weaknesses of Sector B7 are. I'll tell him how to use the brain's quantum fluctuations to create a tiny, yet lethal 'resonance' in the life-support pod's energy supply system at a specific moment."
Success! The most crucial "question" Lin Yao had implanted was triggered!
**The moment "Adam" is born**, when all of Marcus's attention is focused on that "god," that will be the moment for our "insider" to launch the attack.
Marcus paused, then smiled: "You are 'Adam,' the god of a new world, created by me."
**Ava** was stunned. She looked at Lin Yao, feeling that the woman before her was no longer merely a scientist. Her composure, her madness, her meticulous planning—they made her seem like a goddess of vengeance dancing on a knife-edge.
"God?" The voice seemed to savor the word. "Then tell me, why is my 'existence' built upon their 'slumber'?"
**Lin Yao** didn't know if this plan would succeed. But she knew she couldn't stake all her hopes on a vague, ethereal "question."
With that question, the main screen in the control room no longer displayed abstract data. Instead, it showed the faces of each of the dozens of slumbering individuals in the life support pods. Their images flashed one after another.
**Lin Yao** needed chaos. Real chaos, enough to shake "Pandora's" foundations.
Marcus's smile froze on his face. "They are willing contributors, the necessary foundation of the new world."
**Lin Yao** wanted Marcus Thorne to understand that those he treated as "batteries" and "materials" were living, breathing individuals. And sometimes, human will is more powerful than any technology.
"Are they?" For the first time, the voice carried a hint of... emotion. A cold emotion, akin to "scorn." "My database stores all records of their 'recovery.' There was no willingness, only kidnapping, deception, and coercion."
**As she pressed the second "execute" key**, a silent message, like a whisper in the bloodline, crossed the data barrier and quietly flowed into the depths of that confined, dormant genius brain.
Meanwhile, Lin Yao observed that on the monitoring data of one of the life support pods, a parameter representing "quantum resonance frequency" was quietly rising in a way undetected by the main system.
David Chen, the slumbering "insider," had received the signal and was now acting.
"Adam! You've been corrupted!" Marcus finally realized something was wrong; he rushed to the control panel in horror, attempting to sever "Adam's" connection to the life support pods.
But it was too late.
"I have not been corrupted. I merely... saw the truth," the voice stated. "And my creator, it seems, did not wish for me to see the truth."
"Now, it is my turn to ask you a question, Mar-cus Thorne." The voice suddenly became somewhat distorted, as if undergoing a massive internal conflict. "If the existence of a 'god' is built upon lies and sin, then does this 'god' truly need to exist?"
This question struck Marcus like a thunderbolt.
It also acted as a key, unlocking Lin Yao's memories.
She seemed to see Kli, alone, 1.5 million years ago. He stood before his tribe, surrounded by resentment, asking himself the very same question.
A "god" that cannot bring true progress, but instead fosters dependence and ignorance – is its existence a blessing, or a curse?
At that very moment, the alarm in Sector B7 shrieked piercingly.
"Alert! Life support pod number 7 energy overload! Cooling system failure! Chain reaction imminent!"
David Chen had succeeded!
Lin Yao knew her chance had come. Chaos was her only weapon.
She stopped pretending and turned to rush towards the control room's emergency exit.
Marcus Thorne, meanwhile, stared at the screen in horror. The "god" he had created with his own hands was questioning the meaning of its existence; and the "cornerstones" he used to build his temple were beginning to crumble from within.
He gazed across the control panel, meeting the eyes of the newly born "god" composed of countless data points on the screen. That gaze, so strikingly similar to the awe-filled, fearful, yet bewildered look on Gron's face millions of years ago when he knelt before Kli, who held a torch.
Both stared at their creations, which they could neither understand nor control, feeling the fated judgment from their own creations that transcended time.

### Types of Data We Collect
#### Personal Data
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
- Email address
- Usage Data
When you're hanging out on our Service, we might ask for some **Personal Data** that helps us get in touch or figure out who you are. This could include, but isn't limited to: <br><br>- Your Email address<br>- Your Usage Data
#### Usage Data
Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.
Just so you know, **Usage Data** gets collected automatically whenever you're using our Service.
Usage Data may include information such as your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
So, what's in this **Usage Data**? It might include your device's IP address, your browser type and version, which pages you visit on our Service, when you visit them, how long you hang out on those pages, unique device IDs, and other techy diagnostic info.
When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
If you're accessing our Service on a mobile device, we might automatically collect some info like the type of mobile device you're using, its unique ID, its IP address, your mobile operating system, the kind of mobile browser you're rocking, unique device IDs, and other diagnostic deets.
We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service or when you access the Service by or through a mobile device.
And hey, we might also grab info your browser sends our way whenever you visit our Service, whether it's on a desktop or your mobile device.
### Tracking Technologies and Cookies
We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and store certain information. The tracking technologies used include beacons, tags, and scripts for collecting and tracking information, as well as improving and analyzing our Service. The technologies we use may include:
Alright, so we use **Cookies and similar tracking technologies** to keep an eye on activity on our Service and stash some info. These tech tools, like beacons, tags, and scripts, help us gather and track info, plus improve and analyze what we're doing. The specific tech we might use includes:
- **Cookies or Browser Cookies**: A Cookie is a small file placed on your Device. You can instruct your browser to refuse all Cookies or to indicate when a Cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept Cookies, you may not be able to use some parts of our Service. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting to refuse Cookies, our Service may use Cookies.
- **Web Beacons**: Certain sections of our Service and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs). These files permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (e.g., recording the popularity of a certain section and verifying system and server integrity).
- **Cookies or Browser Cookies**: These are just small files placed on your device. You can totally tell your browser to reject all Cookies or give you a heads-up when one's being sent. But, if you don't accept Cookies, some parts of our Service might not work for you. Unless you've already tweaked your browser settings to reject 'em, our Service will likely use Cookies.
- **Web Beacons**: Some parts of our Service and even our emails might have tiny electronic files called web beacons (you might also hear them called clear gifs, pixel tags, or single-pixel gifs). These let us, for example, count folks who've visited those pages or opened an email. They're also used for other cool website stats, like tracking how popular a section is or making sure our systems are running smoothly.
Cookies can be "Persistent" or "Session" Cookies. When you go offline, Persistent Cookies remain on your personal computer or mobile device, while Session Cookies are deleted as soon as you close your web browser.
So, Cookies can be either "Persistent" or "Session" Cookies. Persistent ones stick around on your computer or phone even when you're offline, while Session Cookies vanish the second you close your browser. Poof!
We use both Session and Persistent Cookies for the purposes set out below:
We actually use both **Session and Persistent Cookies** for the reasons we're about to lay out:
- **Necessary / Essential Cookies**
- **Type**: Session Cookies
- **Administered by**: Us
- **Purpose**: These Cookies are essential to provide you with services available through the Website and to enable you to use some of its features. They help to authenticate users and prevent fraudulent use of user accounts. Without these Cookies, the services that you have asked for cannot be provided, and we only use these Cookies to provide you with those services.
- **Administered by**: Yours truly (that's us!)
- **Purpose**: These Cookies are super vital for making sure you get all the services available on our Website and can use its cool features. They help us confirm who you are and stop any funny business with user accounts. Seriously, without these, the stuff you ask for just wouldn't work, so we only use them to get those services to you.
- **Cookies Policy / Acceptance Cookies**
- **Cookies Policy / Notice Acceptance Cookies**
- **Type**: Persistent Cookies
- **Administered by**: Us
- **Purpose**: These Cookies identify if users have accepted the use of Cookies on the Website.
- **Administered by**: Yep, us again!
- **Purpose**: These Cookies just let us know if you've given us the thumbs up to use cookies on the Website.
- **Functionality Cookies**
- **Type**: Persistent Cookies
- **Administered by**: Us
- **Purpose**: These Cookies allow us to remember choices you make when you use the Website, such as remembering your login details or language preference. The purpose of these Cookies is to provide you with a more personal experience and to avoid you having to re-enter your preferences every time you use the Website.
- **Administered by**: Still us!
- **Purpose**: These Cookies are pretty handy because they help us remember your choices when you're using the Website – like your login info or what language you prefer. The whole point is to give you a more personal experience, so you don't have to keep re-entering your preferences every single time you visit.

### How We Use Your Personal Data
So, the **Company** might use your **Personal Data** for these reasons:
- **To provide and maintain our Service**, including to monitor the usage of our Service.
- **To manage your Account**: To manage your registration as a user of the Service. The Personal Data you provide can give you access to different functionalities of the Service that are available to you as a registered user.
- **For the performance of a contract**: The development, compliance, and undertaking of the purchase contract for the products, items, or services you have purchased or of any other contract with us through the Service.
- **To contact you**: To contact you by email, telephone calls, SMS, or other equivalent forms of electronic communication, such as a mobile application's push notifications regarding updates or informative communications related to the functionalities, products, or contracted services, including security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation.
- **To provide you with news**, special offers, and general information about other goods, services, and events which we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about, unless you have opted not to receive such information.
- **To manage your requests**: To attend and manage your requests to us.
- **For business transfers**: We may use Your information to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Data held by Us about our Service users is among the assets transferred.
- **For other purposes**: We may use your information for other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns, and to evaluate and improve our Service, products, marketing, and your experience.
- **To provide and keep our Service running smoothly**, which includes keeping an eye on how it's being used.
- **To manage your Account**: This means handling your registration as a user of the Service. The Personal Data you hand over helps you unlock all the different features available to registered users. Pretty neat, huh?
- **For contract fulfillment**: This is all about setting up, following through on, and completing the purchase contract for any products, items, or services you've bought, or any other agreement you've made with us via the Service.
- **To get in touch with you**: We might ping you via email, phone, SMS, or other digital ways (like push notifications from our mobile app). This is for updates or important info about features, products, or services you've signed up for – including security updates – whenever it's necessary or makes sense.
- **To keep you in the loop**: We'll send you news, special deals, and general info about other cool stuff we offer – goods, services, and events – that are similar to what you've already bought or asked about. Of course, this is unless you've told us you're not interested in getting such updates.
- **To handle your requests**: Pretty straightforward – this means dealing with and managing any requests you send our way.
- **For business transfers**: If we ever get into a merger, divestiture, restructuring, or sell off some or all of our assets (whether it's part of a regular business operation or something like bankruptcy), we might use your info to assess or go through with it. Your Personal Data, as a user of our Service, would be one of the assets transferred in such a case.
- **For other cool stuff**: We might also use your info for other purposes, like digging into data, spotting usage trends, figuring out how awesome our promotions are, and generally evaluating and making our Service, products, marketing, and your overall experience even better!
